The Owners of Pine Hills Retirement Community

Meet the Local Owners of Pine Hills
Owners are (left to right): Eddie Clay, Kel Lorenz, Harold Wyatt, Steve Wyatt; and seated: Dorothy Wyatt
Many retirement communities are owned by large corporations, but Pine Hills is pleased to provide its residents with the many advantages of having local owners who visit the community often and make it a point to get to know the residents. Because the owners are local, they knew from the community’s inception what amenities would be attractive to their friends and neighbors. Owners Dorothy and Harold Wyatt just asked themselves what things they themselves would want to experience in retirement living and chose the location, created the common areas, and designed the apartment floor plans accordingly.
Dorothy and Harold’s son Steve, another of the owners, came up with the idea for the windows over the sink that open into the community’s hallways. Steve also oversaw every detail of construction.
Dorothy Wyatt personally oversaw the interior design, working with Natalie Walch of Bella Patina Interiors of Rapid City, who describes the décor as “Victorian Cowboy Chic.”
Kel Lorenz not only worked with Steve on the building’s design, but also chose the stone and built the community’s beautiful living room fireplace and the etched stonework at the community’s entrance. Local business executive Charles “Eddie” Clay, has been active in marketing the community and loves to bring guests to the dining room for dinner.
